Exploring an Invisible World

For the KUMAK Biological Education Centre, we created a collection of immersive visual experiences that invite visitors to explore the extraordinary biodiversity hidden within a single drop of water. Rather than presenting scientific information through traditional narration, our productions rely on observation, atmosphere, and visual storytelling, encouraging visitors to slow down and discover an ecosystem that normally remains invisible to the naked eye.

The project included a unique narration-free fulldome experience, panoramic animations displayed on hemispherical screens, and an interactive extended reality installation. Together, these elements transform scientific concepts into engaging immersive experiences while blending naturally into the exhibition’s educational journey.

Multiple Immersive Experiences, One Living Ecosystem

The centerpiece of the project is a cinematic fulldome animation that transports visitors inside a drop of water, where microscopic organisms coexist in a constantly evolving environment. Without narration or dialogue, the experience invites audiences to simply observe the rhythms, movement, and beauty of this hidden world through sound, animation, and immersive visual composition.

Complementing the dome experience, we produced a series of animations displayed inside hemispherical viewing stations, allowing visitors to peer into miniature aquatic environments from different perspectives. We also developed an extended reality (XR) experience for a stationary Google VR installation, where the physical exhibition seamlessly transforms into a living digital scene. Through the headset, a static dragonfly model comes to life, revealing its metamorphosis as it emerges from its exuvia and takes flight, connecting the real exhibition with an immersive digital layer.
