What is time? Is it just the steady ticking of a clock pushing us forward? Or could it be something much more mysterious, deeply connected to the very structure of the universe?

8K60FPS3D-StereoPhysicsSpecial relativity theory EinsteinTime

Join us on a journey through human history, cultures, and modern science. From early astronomical observations to Einstein’s revolutionary insights, T I M E explores one of the Universe’s greatest mysteries — the nature of time.

With carefully crafted storytelling and high-quality visuals, the film examines time from multiple perspectives, blending human experience with modern physics in a way that is both emotionally engaging and scientifically grounded. It guides audiences from natural rhythms and humanity’s efforts to measure time into the world of relativity, spacetime, and entropy, revealing why time has a direction. In its finale, T I M E returns to human perception and invites reflection on what the “now” truly is.

The movie is available in Fulldome 8K 3D 60 FPS. Its stunning visuals were created by the artists involved in such well-received Fulldome productions                    as “The Stellars”, “Magic Globe”, “Explore,” and “Dream to Fly”.

A Conversation Across Centuries

TIME is a large-scale fulldome production from Creative Planet, developed for older children, families, and adult audiences seeking ambitious scientific content presented with clarity and narrative cohesion.

The film centers on the question What is time? – a topic deeply rooted in physics and philosophy education worldwide. Its conceptual framework reflects key areas of modern curricula, including relativity, cosmology, thermodynamics, and the nature of scientific models.

The narrative structure was shaped in consultation with scientific experts to ensure accuracy while maintaining accessibility. Rather than simplifying complex ideas, TIME guides viewers through them step by step, building understanding through visual immersion and carefully paced explanation.

Aristotle, Newton, Maxwell, and Einstein appear in the film not as isolated historical figures, but as participants in an ongoing conversation about the nature of time.

The story begins with Aristotle, who linked time to change and motion. In his view, time did not exist independently. It described transformation and was inseparable from the physical world.

Centuries later, Isaac Newton proposed a different structure. In his mechanics, time flows uniformly and independently of events. It provides a stable framework within which motion occurs. This idea shaped science for generations and formed the basis of predictable, measurable laws.

James Clerk Maxwell introduced a decisive development. His equations showed that light travels at a constant speed. This result exposed tensions within classical physics and prepared the ground for a new interpretation of space and time.

Albert Einstein pursued the implications of that discovery. If the speed of light remains constant for every observer, then time cannot remain universal. Measurements depend on motion and reference frame. Duration differs between observers, and simultaneity depends on perspective.

Within the dome, this progression unfolds as a gradual shift in understanding rather than a sequence of biographies. Each thinker represents a stage in the refinement of a concept that continues to evolve.

Educational content

TIME was developed with the same research-based approach that defines all Creative Planet productions. The film integrates scientific precision with narrative clarity, allowing complex ideas to unfold gradually within a coherent story.

At its core, TIME explores several interconnected domains:

  • Time in Nature and Human History
From the motion of the Sun and Moon to early calendars and mechanical clocks, the film shows how natural cycles shaped civilization and how measuring time transformed society.

  • Philosophy and the Foundations of Thought
Audiences encounter the earliest attempts to define time as change and motion, and follow the debate over whether time exists independently of events.

  • Light and the Structure of Reality
The discovery that light travels at a constant speed becomes a turning point, leading to a redefinition of space and time.

  • Relativity and Spacetime
Concepts such as time dilation, relativity of simultaneity, and reference frames are presented visually within the dome, allowing viewers to grasp how time depends on motion and perspective.

  • Cosmic Time
The film connects time to the evolution of the Universe, from the Big Bang and stellar life cycles to the expansion of space and the observable past carried by light.

  • Entropy and the Arrow of Time
Physical processes unfold irreversibly. The second law of thermodynamics explains why the past and the future are not symmetrical.

  • The Human Experience of the Present
Insights from neuroscience reveal how the brain constructs the “now” by integrating memory, perception, and expectation.

Throughout the film, audiences witness how scientific models evolve in response to new discoveries. TIME demonstrates that our understanding of reality is not fixed, but refined over centuries through observation, experiment, and critical thought.
